FAQ

Straight answers.

Twelve questions we get every week, grouped. Still stuck? Call the yard.

Visits and windows

Do you charge to come out?

Repairs: a diagnostic visit, quoted when you book and credited against the work if you go ahead. Planned jobs (repipes, heaters, remodel rough-ins) get a free site visit and a written scope.

How fast can you get here?

Call to check the next available visit in Fremont, Newark, Union City or Milpitas. We confirm the arrival window when booking.

What happens if you miss the window?

We text ahead if a job runs long. If we miss the two-hour window without texting, the diagnostic is on us.

Do I need to be home?

For the first visit, yes, so we can show you the shut-off and the problem. For a planned job you can leave us a key after day one if you prefer.

Scope and paperwork

Why no prices on the website?

Because every house is different and a number online is either padded or wrong. Repairs are quoted on site before we start; planned work gets a written scope after we have looked.

Who pulls the permit?

We do, with the City of Fremont, for water heaters, repipes and sewer work. We book the inspection and the sticker goes on before we close the invoice.

Is there financing?

Yes, through our lending partner, for repipes, heaters and sewer laterals. Terms come after the site visit. See the financing page.

What does the warranty cover?

Two years on our labor, in writing on the invoice. Parts carry the maker’s warranty, which we register for you on heaters.

Your house

Where is my shut-off?

Garage wall nearest the street, the front hose-bib riser, or the box by the sidewalk. We label it on every visit. Read the burst-pipe article for the ten-minute version.

Is Fremont water hard?

Yes, around 8 to 12 grains per gallon. Drain or flush your heater once a year. We can put a date on the tank.

Will the water be off all day on a repipe?

No. Cold water every evening, hot water from day two. Two to four days for a typical three-bath house.

What areas do you cover?

All of Fremont: Niles, Centerville, Irvington, Mission San Jose, Warm Springs, Ardenwood, Glenmoor, Brookvale, plus Newark, Union City and Milpitas.
