Questions
What people ask on the first call.
Eight answers. If yours is not here, give us a call and a real person will pick up. Visits are by arrangement.
How long is the power off for a panel upgrade?
About six hours on one scheduled day. PG&E pulls the meter in the morning, we swap the panel and re-land the circuits, the inspector signs off, and the meter goes back in. We tell you the hours the week before and the evening before.
Do I need a permit for an EV charger?
Yes, in Sunnyvale and every neighboring city. We pull it, usually online the same day, and book the inspection. You get the signed card.
Will you tell me a price on the phone?
No, and nobody honest will for a panel or a rewire. We tell you the schedule, what is included and the permit path on the site walk, then the price in writing within two days of it.
Can my 100 A panel handle an EV charger?
Often, with a load-managing charger that throttles when big appliances run. Sometimes not. We run the load calculation on the walk and give you the number. See the journal piece.
Do you do emergency calls?
No-power and burning-smell calls are answered first. Visits are by arrangement, so call to confirm availability.
Who patches the drywall after a rewire?
We do. We open as little as possible, and what we open we patch and texture. Paint is yours, unless you ask us to arrange it.
Is the work warranted?
Ask about workmanship and product coverage. The applicable terms and conditions belong in your written proposal.
Is this a real business?
No. Sample website by ObraUp. Business, reviews and prices are illustrative. It shows what an ObraUp Elite website looks like for an electrical contractor.
Next: a site walk.
Forty minutes at your panel. We leave you a written scope, the permit path and a start date. Prices come after the walk, never before.
